Software: the majority of files were generated using ArcView 3.2; some were later reedited in ArcMap 9.

Data sources: Shape files created over the top of various OS base maps, including OS 1:50 000 Scale Colour Raster; OS 1:10 000 Scale Raster; OS Land-line, downloaded via Digimap on from www.edina.ac.uk. Base maps are not archived.

Projection: British National Grid

Scale of data capture: Various, as appropriate to individual file

Scale of data storage: Various, as appropriate to individual file

Assessment of data quality: None, although spatial displacement should be considered to be potentially high.

Method of original data capture: Digitization off-screen. No use made of scanned or rectified images, no inputting of pre-existing georeferenced databases, no use made of digitizing tablets. All attribute tables created within the system.
