Metal plate attached to stone post, Carlisle red stone & curved plate design, erected by Cockermouth & Carlisle turnpike trust, 19th century. Inscription reads: // CARLISLE / 6 MILES / WIGTON / 5 MILES / COCKERMOUTH / 20½ MILES //Cleveland Corrosion//. Grade II listed by Historic England. Milestone Society National ID: CU_CLCM06.
