  • Beek's House was the former home of the Crispe family, a notable Marshfield family.  The Marshfield Almshouses were completed in 1619, founded by Nicholas and Ellis Crispe, who were wealthy London merchants. Beek's House no longer exists but a map of 1830 shows it to have existed at that time.  Beek's farm remains.  We have only recently become aware of the gate pier's origins.
