Description: Medieval park first emparked in 1334, landscaped during the 18th and 19th centuries when Battlesden Park House was constructed. Landscaping involved work carried out by Humphrey Repton prior to 1807. Joseph Paxton was responsible for the gardens and one of the lakes in 1821. A painting of 1818 shows several garden features including an aviary, orangery and gothic building.
