Description: The church of St Peter and St Paul is a building of pebble and flint rubble in the Early English and Decorated styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and a low south tower. The north and south nave arcades are late 13th century, with the clerestory of quatrefoil lights blocked by late 14th century aisle roofs. The collapse of the spire circa 1625 ruined the chancel which was rebuilt during the restoration of T. C. Hine, in 1866-69. A belfy and spire were added above the south porch circa 1670 and reconstructed in 1866. In 1903 some interior remodelling was undertaken. There is strong evidence that the church originated as an 11th century minster.
