Description: Romano-British settlement, probably a farmstead, was discovered during an evaluation in the High Street at Crosslands. Circular gullies probably represent drainage gullies for timber round houses and animal pens. Straight ditches define subdivisions of the main enclosure. A droveway and field system were also identified. Most of the pottery was 2nd-4th century date. Medieval land divisions run back from Main Street, but the lack of boundary markers to the west suggest that the Green extended further east in the Medieval period.
