Description:
A house and garden are named at this site in the 1840 Tithe Apportionment Survey. The house is depicted as a roofed structure on the 1876 OS map, but by the time of the 1908 map only part of its walls are shown. This walling survives today, up to 1.5m high.
During the National Trust Vernacular Building Survey (1989) a post used for making traditional crab and lobster pots was photographed at this site (negative reference: 396.5.89, 36). The photograph (with grid reference), is listed under the buildings record for No. 1 The Nook (PP5/H3). It was not consulted during the survey carried out for this report, when a search of the area failed to locate the post.
