Looseboxes, granary & root house, Little Mose Farm


Description:  Mid 19th century loosebox and granary with adjacent root house. Gabled, 1 1/2 storey, tiled roof and ridge, rafters exposed at eaves, plain verge. Queen struts with lateral braces. Flemish Stretcher bond, Madeley Wood brick, tie plates to bridging joists. Rough cast S gable. Doors to W and E, concrete floors. Adjacent root house gabled, one storey, corrugated iron roof, rafters exposed at eaves, purlins exposed to narrow bargeboard at verge. King post without side struts. Madeley Wood brick, irregular bond. N section of E wall in sandstone coursed rubble. Recent brick and two windows SE to part of E wall. Timber lintel over blocked middle door. Heavy frame under wall plate originally took double doors N of W side. Jambs under weatherboard E gable.
