Description: Colne Hall was built around 1588 on the site of an earlier, possibly 15th century, house, and subsequently demolished in 1867. Around 1868 Robert Shaw (1802-1979) built Princess House on the site of the old Colne Hall. Princess House, together with its neighbour Norway House, was converted in 2002 into 35 flats and nine houses by the Manchester and District Housing Association. Princess House was erected in 1868 for the Shaw family, later becoming the Headquarters of the Colne Co-operative Society.
