Description: An Early Bronze Age round barrow excavated by Greenwell in 1868. A primary cremation representing the remains of an adult was found at the bottom of a central grave pit. Animal bones were also in the grave fill. On the ground surface beneath the mound was another cremation, this time accompanied by a ring-headed bone pin. Elsewhere, a fragment of a polished greenstone axe, some worked flints and a Beaker sherd were found. Greenwell also excavated a total of 71 secondary burials of Anglo-Saxon date, accompanied by a range of grave goods. The burials included a number of crouched inhumations as well as the more typical extended inhumations.
