Introduction

Millbay Docks, Millbay Road, Plymouth, Devon. Archaeological Watching Brief

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology during dredging of the approach channel and lock barrel of Millbay Inner Basin, Millbay Docks, Millbay Road, Plymouth.

Two large timbers, probably associated with dock or lock gate structures, were dredged from the northern end of the lock barrel.

Two finds, which later proved to be modern objects, were recovered during the dredging works.
