House, now public house, probably built for John Younge (who owned the nearby Cooper Rolling Mill). In the late 19th century this house was converted in to a hotel with 'pleasure grounds' (the 'Sheaf House Ground') to the north east. Building is listed Grade II (LBS 455903). Fragment of crozzle topped garden wall surviving from at least 1891 to the immediate south of the building. (extracted from DCMS Listing Text) Significantly legible survival of the type of large house that characterises the early 18th century landscape of this area of Sheffield.
