Enclosed fields on the spoil heap associated with Dodworth Colliery (HSY6419) that is still a dominant mound with some scrub growth on the east side so legibility is significant. New field boundaries have been created on the west side, which is now reused for agricultural purposes. The spoil heap was built up on an area of strip enclosures that were part of the town's open field system in the medieval period. These field boundaries were still visible over much of this polygon on 1938 maps. There is now no legibility of these enclosures.
