This polygon retains the character of private parkland even though it is cut through by the M18 motorway. It is associated with Loversall Hall. The date of emparkment is uncertain although an earlier hall dating to the early 17th century is known to have preceded the current mostly 19th century hall. Ridge and furrow is preserved in the fields to the north-east suggesting a previous character of open fields prior to emparkment. Legibility of the former landscape is significant due to this.
