Former brewery which was opened in around 1900 and closed by 1910. The site was later used as a vinegar brewery and pickle factory but is now reused as a garage, a four storey brick tower survives. (Bayliss 1995, 7). There was probably a beer brewery in Darton prior to 1900 at an unknown site as the 1855 OS map marks a 'Malt Shovel Inn' south of the church. This land has probably been enclosed from an early point as it is next to the church which was founded in the medieval period. There is no legibility of former enclosures.
