An area of land on the high moors above Bradfield characterised by an irregular patchwork of fields. The fields are not depicted on the 1826 enclosure award suggesting they had been enclosed already (Taylor 1998, 19). Several phases of piecemeal enclosure may be represented. An unusual erratic curvilinear stone wall to the east of Rocher Head may be the remains of one of the earlier phases, representing a possible settlement boundary wall (ibid). Legibility of previous character types is uncertain as we have no evidence as yet for earlier landscapes.
