Possibly 'improved' and drained as part of the second Bentley with Arksey enclosure award of 1830 (date from English 1985, 15) which enclosed "open fields, intermixed inclosures, ings, meadows, pastures, commons, wastes, commonable lands" (ibid.). Bounded to the north by 'Bentley Common Soak Drain' and to the South by the River Don and its remaining unimproved meadow land.
