These houses are first depicted on the 1935 25 inch OS plan, although some were built during the early 1920s and some during the 1930s. Much of the earlier housing was built from prefabricated reinforced concrete. These houses were demolished from the 1980s onward, after problems with wall tie-ins were discovered. Earlier maps, including the Fairbanks plan of 1795 and the Sanderson map of 1835, show the area as fields with the characteristics of piecemeal enclosure. Prior to fields, the area was within Sheffield Park, a medieval deer park. Legibility is invisible.
