An area of mixed character at the foot of Walkley, though dominated by terraced housing. Intermingled with the houses are the remains of the Crown Brewery and some religious sites. The Old Police Station has also been used as a dentists surgery. Prior to housing the site was occupied by White House Dam. The dam is shown on the Fairbanks 1795 plan. Prior to this the area is shown as small irregularly shaped fields probably created through assarting Shales Moor. Legibility is invisible.
