Planned housing estate built to geometric design which is first depicted on the 1938 OS map. This part of the estate was constructed on the site of Carr House. The house was constructed for Alderman Hugh Childers in 1620. At the end of the 19th century some buildings were added and the house was reused as a fever hospital. The area originally formed part of Carrhouse Carr, a wet wood environment. Legibility of the former landscape is invisible.
