An area of large agglomerated fields containing the occasional farm. The fields were created through the enclosure of High Common by parliamentary award in 1767. The wetland common was improved at this time with the addition of drainage. The field boundaries created by the enclosure have only been removed towards the end of the 20th century. Legibility of the former landscape is fragmentary- High Common persists as a road name and the drainage system is a reminder of the former wet land.
