Modern housing estate (first depicted on 1965 maps) built on an area of regular enclosure which may have been part of the parliamentary enclosure of a small area of commons in Dodworth in 1806 (Sykes 1993, 226). The land was used as allotment gardens from the 1930s. This was probably an area of unenclosed common in the medieval period (see Sykes 1993, 234). There is no legibility of the landscape before the construction of the modern housing.
