This area was developed for light industrial use following the second world war and the present fabric can be expected to date from a mixture of dates within this period. The area represents that developed as temporary wooden housing during the first world war for munitions workers. The housing was built of prefabricated wooden units and was extremely generous for its time having hot and cold running water, gas lighting, baths and 3 bedrooms.
