Almshouses erected by Mark Firth in 1869. The western side of the houses appears to have been demolished whilst the eastern side remains standing but has been modernised. Prior to the almshouses the area is shown as fields, probably enclosed in a piecemeal fashion from moorland. Legibility is invisible. The origin of the moorland landscape is uncertain though this area is likely to be moorland by the Roman period (see Bevan 2003 for discussion of environmental evidence).
