Large detached houses built within the grounds of Plumpton House which survives well. Plumpton House was built by the owners of Plumpton fulling mill (HSY271). It isn't marked on the Thurlstone enclosure award maps of 1816 but there are documented references to the house by 1841 (Nicholson 1995,52). There is fragmentary legibility of the parliamentary enclosure with the grounds partly respecting field boundaries on the west side. Prior to parliamentary enclosure this was unenclosed commons.
