Modern housing estate built around a series of curving roads. Part of the estate to the south is still partially under construction on 2002 Aerial photographs. On Jefferys 1775 map of the area this is marked as enclosed commons. After 1855 there are a growing number of railways sidings across the area. These linked the North Gawber Colliery to the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway branch line which was built in 1850 (Taylor 2001, 73). There is no legibility of the former landscapes under the new estate layout.
