Mix of detached and semi detached houses on the edge of Wombwell. Built on an area of surveyed enclosure of the Wombwell town field. This was probably enclosed as part of the Wombwell 1767 parliamentary enclosure award (date from English 1985). There is no legibility of the former enclosures. The grassed area to the north of the polygon is the route of the former Dearne and Dove Canal that opened in 1804 (Glister 1995, 118). There are several 'park' place names in the area, which may indicate there was a medieval deer park or ornamental park associated with Wombwell manor house. There is, however, no documentary evidence of a park.
