Modern housing, mostly semi-detached and built in the latter half of the 20th century. Previously the site was occupied by a group of houses called Concrete Cottages. This housing was constructed for workers at the adjacent Cortonwood Colliery. Garden Drive was the site of the allotments provided with the housing. The houses were demolished in the late 1950s. Prior to this the area is agricultural. The 1st edition OS map shows an area named Cliffe Field which appears to have been enclosed by parliamentary award probably from the earlier open field. Legibility of the former landscape is invisible.
