The remains of the fields surrounding Manor Cottage Farm. The fields were probably enclosed in a piecemeal fashion at the break up of the manorial Sheffield Park. The present day Manor Lane, along the edge of the polygon, follows the route of a road marked on the Fairbanks plan of 1795 and is probably an original route up to the Manor. Legibility is significant due to the survival of the fields and associated farm. Along with Manor Oaks and Manor Lodge, the buildings and fields form a group presenting a rare insight into the medieval and early post-medieval landscape of Sheffield.
