Moorfields Nursing Home has been much added to over the years with a substantial new building added. The original building was a large detached home named as 'Prospect Villa' on the 1st Edition OS map of 1855. It still stands, was probably constructed in 1840 and is a listed building. It was used as a hospital from the 1920s onwards. Prior to the building of the home the area probably consisted of strip fields created through the enclosure of the Crookes open fields. Legibility is invisible.
