Predominantly buildings dating from the mid-to-latter part of the 20th century belonging to the University of Sheffield. Overall the campus lacks cohesion due to its piecemeal acquisition. Firth Court dates to the early 1900s and takes its name from the founder of the University, Mark Firth - a steel maker. The polygon includes the Arts Tower, Sheffield's tallest building. This building can be seen from almost anywhere in Sheffield. Before the construction of the University the site was dominated principally by terraced housing. The housing was built on fields with the characteristics of piecemeal enclosure. Legibility is invisible.
