Terraced housing built to a grid iron street pattern in Balby at the end of the 19th century. The housing was constructed on the site of an orchard depicted on the 1st edition OS map of 1854, thus giving the street its name. The area is named as Little Moor on the early OS maps suggesting an area of common land, between the open fields prior to the orchard. It was probably enclosed by the Hexthorpe with Balby and Long Sandall award in 1785. Legibility of the former landscape is fragmentary as the street is named after the former character type.
