A small patch of allotments that may originally have been associated with Manor Castle colliery and the associated housing. The northern half of the plot is laid out on the 1892 25 inch OS map with the whole plot given over to allotments by 1923. Prior to the allotments the site consisted of piecemeal fields enclosed from Sheffield Park. The present day Manor Lane, along the edge of the polygon, follows the route of a road marked on the Fairbanks plan of 1795 and is probably the original route up to the Manor. Legibility is fragmentary due to the continued purpose of use and the possible association with the colliery and housing.
