Scabba Wood is a compartmentalised Ancient Replanted Woodland as defined by English Nature. Whilst the sections characterised as HSY 4253 and HSY 4259 exhibit evidence on aerial photography of replanting episodes, this area appears to retain a largely semi natural broadleaved appearance. Archaeologically surveyed in 1998 (Chadwick and Robbins) who identified a number of features within this area. Unknown legibility of demonstrably earlier landscapes.
