This area of land, as with much of the Magnesian Limestone plateau has been subject to large scale removal of boundaries over the course of the twentieth century. On the 1851 OS six inch survey a pattern characteristic of the private or parliamentary surveyed enclosure of land (possibly contemporary with the digging of the 'Lamb Lane Dike' that form the western edge of this unit.
