Modern business park on the site of Beevor Hall. Beevor Hall was built in around 1813 by William Jackson who was part owner of Beevor Bleachworks (Umpleby 2000, 139-40). The hall was surrounded by a small area of ornanmentalised grounds. Owned by the Senior family, who in around 1858 commenced brewing nearby (HSY8059). The Oakwell Brewery expanded into the grounds of the hall and took over the stables for workers flats and later offices. (Anon 1999 [accessed 16/1/08]). The hall and contemporary buildings have now been replaced with modern offices. This land was enclosed prior to the drawing up of the 1777 parliamentary award map. It is located on the edge of land known as Swinhill which was a medieval open field (Elliot 2002, 37). This land was probably part of the open field system. There is no legibility of the former landscape.
