Part of the Intake estate of semi-detached houses built to a geometric pattern. Originally this area formed a recreation ground complete with a cricket ground for the estate. It was first depicted on the 1937 OS map but the housing soon began to encroach on the area and reduce its size. Only the playing fields to the southeast remain now. Prior to this, the area was agricultural. It consisted of thin strip fields consolidated over time from the furlongs of open fields. Legibility of the former landscape is invisible.
