Commercial boatyard, marina and lock alongside Stainforth and Keadby Canal. Wharfage on this site first developed alongside a 'Chemical Works depicted from 1891 until the mid 20th century. The present dry-dock dates to this period (providing partial legibility of this earlier phase and was perhaps used in the course of maintenance of a fleet of boats connected to this works. The present marina was dug and the works sheds added to east by 1967. Enclosed as 'Sluice Common' as part of the 1825 Enclosure Award for this area (Haywood 1825).
