Surveyed farmland, possibly reflecting the private enclosure of 'Hoober Common', listed by English (1985, 22) as dating to 1714. (alto The area covers a gentle south facing slope rising to a northern which is topped by the 'Hoober Stand' a monument to the crushing of the Jacobite rebellion of 1745, built by Thomas Marquis of Rockingham in 1746-7 (Pevsner 1967, 545). No legibility of earlier landscape.
