Private housing estate on the site of Shafton Hall. The hall was reused as a farm in the 20th century. Although Shafton had a separate manor house, for much of the medieval period the manor was under was part of a larger estates owned by the lord of Brierley (Harrison & Watson 2006 [accessed 28/11/07]). There is no legibility of the former buildings associated with the manor but there is survival of the boundaries of the ground surrounding the hall so legibility of the past landscape is fragmentary.
