Private housing estate (first depicted on 1938 maps) built on an area of enclosed strip fields that are marked as North field on the Dodworth tithe map (copy in Sykes 1993, 227). They would have been part of the townfield system in the medieval period. There is partial legibility of these enclosures as the estate mostly fits within one of these strips and the rear garden boundaries to the east and west of the polygon follow former hedgerows.
