A piece of scrubland marooned between two busy roads- the dual carriageway of Penistone Road and the tram tracks on Infirmary Road. The once prominent site was occupied by St Phillips Church. This was the second of four million pound act churches to be built in Sheffield when construction began in 1828. It was demolished in 1952. The area formed part of the common of Shales moor prior to the church being built. Legibility is invisible.
