Golf course (first depicted on 1931 maps) built on an area of piecemeal enclosure around Fall Head and Field Head farms, which are likely to be medieval farms built on the outskirts of Dodworth on wastes and commons probably dating to the 12th to 14th century (Sykes 1993, 240). There is significant legibility of this enclosed landscape as farm buildings and some field boundaries survive and there are areas of preserved ridge and furrow within the golf course.
