A number of detached houses at Hollow Meadows. Some of the housing is depicted on the 1st Edition OS map of 1855. It is likely that the land was enclosed at the time of the Bradfield Enclosure award and land sold to speculative developers for housing. Prior to housing this was a landscape of moorland, but there is no legibility of this. The date of origin of the moorland is uncertain but it had probably developed in this area by the Roman period (see Bevan 2003 for discussion of environmental evidence in the area).
