Late 19th century terraced housing in Hillsborough. This is some of the earliest terraced housing to be built in the area and is first depicted on the 1892 25 inch OS map. It details the expansion of the township of Owlerton to the east into the area now known as Hillsborough. The terracing is built on a grid-iron street pattern overwriting the previous landscape of small irregularly shaped fields. The field morphology is indicative of piecemeal enclosure. Legibility is invisible.
