Junction 3 of the M18. It was constructed in 1979 much later than the western arm of the motorway. Prior to the junction the area was part of Beeston Plantation, the rest of which still remains. Prior to this the area was probably fields created by the massive drainage programme of Vermuyden in the 17th century of the wet and marshy meadows. Legibility of the former landscape is fragmentary as the junction cuts through the plantation woodland.
