Semi detached cul-de-sac housing on the site of the former 'Izal' factory which produced the Izal disinfectant range for which Newton Chambers and co became famous fo during the 20th century. This facility was built in 1949 on the site of the former 'Chapeltown Iron Works' established by the same company at some time between 1793 and 1851 (Jones 1999).
