This is a large depot of a company associated with machinery for the food industry. Prior to this the area was wooded. It was called West End Wood. It was adjacent to 'Park Wood' which is recorded as ancient and semi-natural woodland. The name 'Park Wood', along with the nearby 'Park Field' and 'Park Closes', which are marked on the 1st edition OS map of 1854 strongly suggests the area may have been part of a medieval deer park, probably centred on Draw Dikes manor which was held by the De Mauley family. The name 'West End' possibly indicates a compartment at the western edge of the wood. Legibility is fragmentary as the boundary of the woodland is fossilised.
