Terraced housing built by 1906 maps adjacent to the recently opened Hickleton Main Colliery (HSY7380). Some areas of housing and the associated public buildings (such as the baths) have since been demolished. This land would have been part of the medieval townfields and was probably enclosed into strips in the early post-medieval period. Some of the field boundaries on historic maps are fairly regular which may indicate that there was some later surveyed enclosure in the area. There is fragmentary legibility of the former landscape in the survival of the Lidget Lane and the orientation of some of the houses remaining consistent with the former field pattern.
