Extent of the village in the mid 19th century. This is likely to be the focus of the medieval settlement which probably consisted of farms. There is a possible medieval timbered barn within the village and remains of a medieval cross in the church yard. The age of character is quite mixed with some buildings marked on 19th century maps surviving but there has been significant building in the late 20th century. The older surviving buildings and the street pattern give partial legibility of he past landscape.
