Down-stream junction of the South Yorkshire Navigation (Rotherham Cut) with the River Don built during the modernisation of the canal in 1983 . Previously the site of two locks (Eastwood Upper and Eastwood Lower) either side of Aldwarke Coal Staith shown on 1893 - 1923 25 inch OS. Sidings to the Staith from Aldwarke main pit. 1983 transformed the junction of the canal and junction which now has a small wharf created from the old route of the canal. Two small cottages (lock keepers?) associated with the staith survive giving fragmentary legibility. Otherwise a modern canal installation.
