Early twentieth century terraced housing to the north of historic Dinnington. Likely to be related to the sinking of Dinnington Main Colliery in 1903-5 (Taylor 2001, 121). Typical form is blocks of up to ten houses with rear offshots with access to the rear via common back lanes. Little legibility of the earlier enclosure morphology although Doe Quarry Lane and Nordern Hill represent pre urban enclosure roads laid out as part of the Dinnington enclosure award of 1778 across the former open Lorden Field.
