Cleared at the same time as Ruskin Park was created, new housing consisting of short terraced blocks and some semi-detached was constructed on this plot. Terraced housing in a rigid grid iron pattern was cleared. The terraces are first depicted on the 1892 25 inch OS map. The 1st edition OS map of 1855 shows a landscape upon which development is starting to encroach with a row of houses called Sommerville Terrace and some allotment gardens. Prior to this, the area is depicted as fields. Legibility is invisible.
