Part of the modern housing estates, first depicted on 1984 maps, that rapidly expanded the north of Silkstone village. Up until the late 20th century this was the northern extent of Silkstone. This portion of the estate was built on 16th to 18th century vernacular buildings. East of the High Street was Highfield House which was a 16th or 17th century timbered house (Mercer 1975, 225). Medieval Silkstone may have extended this far to the north making burgage plots a possibility. There is only fragmentary legibility of the former housing types as the modern estate has over written the house layouts but the houses do respect the earlier roads.
