Loxley primary school is first depicted on the 1923 25 inch OS map although other buildings have subsequently been added. Before construction of the school, the land was field with regular straight edges. The field was created through the enclosure of Loxley Common in 1805. Previously, the area was wooded and used as wood pasture. Legibility is fragmentary as the school occupies the southern half of a field plot shown on the 1st edition OS map of 1855.
