Appendix 1 headings,Metadata/definition
Unit number,A unique number assigned to each archaeobotanical analytical unit.  The numbers after the decimal point refer to multiple units within a single sampling column (e.g. 3.1 and 3.2 = two separate analytical units in sampling location/column 3).
Unit code,"A unique code assigned to each archaeobotanical analytical unit, incorporating the site abbreviation 'vaih'."
Samples included,The original identifying number(s) of the sample(s) included in each archaeobotanical analytical unit.
Fläche,The 15 m x 10 m grid square that contains the sampling location.
Planum,The horizontal surface from which the feature was excavated. 
Feature,The number of the feature.
Section,The section sampled.
Cross-section,The cross-section sampled.
Position,The position of the sampling column along the (cross-)section.
Feature type,"The type of feature (pit complex, post-hole etc.)"
Phase,"The chronological phase of the feature, assigned by seriation."
Subperiod,The LBK subperiod of the feature.
Clan,The house group or 'clan' to which the feature belongs.
House,The number of the longhouse to which the feature is assigned.
House sequence,The number of the house sequence to which the feature is assigned.
