Abstract:
A preliminary report on recent survey findings, where the most salient feature has been the advent of developer funding. Although ostensibly a good thing, providing jobs and excavation opportunities, it is short term and project specific which does nothing to promote a professional career structure or contribute to extended research projects. It may also enable government to escape the duty to adequately fund the preservation and study of the cultural heritage.
