Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The distribution and ecology, as far as they are known, of the Colydiid beetle Aglenus brunneus (Gyll) are summarised and the significance of its records from archaeological sites considered. The supposition that it originated in N America is questioned in the light of the archaeological record. The species is used to illustrate some of the general principles and problems involved in the theoretical reconstruction of past environments from ancient faunas.
