Abstract:
Pollen records from lake cores in two sites in Fife (Kilconquhar Loch and Black Loch) reveal hemp as an important component in the local farming economy. Reasons are sought for the spatial and temporal variation in the palaeoecological record. In the absence of detailed documentary evidence, more pollen analysis from well-chosen sites could provide a comprehensive data source. Au(much adp)
