Dendrochronological analysis of structural timbers from Stirling Castle has produced exact felling dates for timber used in different building phases within the castle complex. A brief building history of the castle is presented. Much of the timber was imported from Scandinavia and the historical nature of the timber trade between this area and Scotland is considered. | ||
