Abstract:
In order to test the results of a previous resistivity survey, which had revealed a complex of anomalies of archaeological potential, an alternative method was employed. Readings were repeated on three transects across major anomalies, using variable electrode spacings to measure resistivity at different depths. The results are used to construct vertical profiles of the anomalies, which tend to confirm their interpretation as ditches. The principles of the technique and its usefulness are discussed.
