Abstract: |
The Committee's Chairman, Neil Cossons, provides a foreword calling for a coherent policy towards the industrial landscape of Britain and the provision of well coordinated official and unofficial, professional and amateur, effort towards its proper recording. The report itself reviews developments at the three main levels of recording, comments on techniques of recording, and offers advice on various aspects of the production and deposition of industrial records. The 'thematic survey sheet' is recommended and examples provided. Numerous examples of detail surveys, from the simplest to the most complex and sophisticated, are given, and report-writing is also covered. |
