Abstract: |
The owner of the late 16th century Coldham Hall commissioned the Field Projects Team of Suffolk County Council's Archaeological Service to carry out a limited programme of archaeological investigations associated with a standing earthwork. A programme of investigation failed to identify any archaeological deposits or artefacts dating to earlier than the hall itself. The most likely interpretation for the bank and ditch earthworks was that they represented a formal garden of late 17th to early 18th century date. [AIP] |
