Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed the location of a medieval fishpond previously known to have existed within the site and evidence of land reclamation on what would have been a low lying marshy area prone to seasonal flooding. Another feature identified was a track way leading from Millfield Lane to farmland or buildings. Although no dating evidence was recovered, the type of brick used in its construction suggested that it was laid during the 19th century. [AIP] |
