Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken to assess the impact of development on a 4.5km section of the The Ridgeway which lay within the Avebury World Heritage Site. It was concluded that any change involving land disturbance on or adjacent to the Ridgeway had a high probability - or indeed a near certainty - of raising archaeological implications. On archaeological and historical grounds, wise and well-informed management of the length of the Ridgeway would positively seek to avoid any disturbance to or alongside it. [Au] |
