Abstract: |
No deposits of archaeological significance were observed in any of the test pits monitored during the watching brief. A considerable amount of earth moving appeared to have taken place on the site since the 19th century and this had obscured the original land surface to such an extent that it was not recognisable. Much of the material which had been dumped on the site appeared to have a railway origin. It seemed unlikely that significant archaeological deposits survived anywhere on the site. [Au] |
