Abstract: |
A watching brief of the installation trenches revealed Victorian brickwork and a culvert, with the remnants of a granite set surface. The findings suggested that there had been disturbance to the Front Courtyard area of Burlington House probably dating from the period that the Learned Academies were being constructed (1869-73), which had severely truncated earlier deposits.
