Abstract: |
An archaeological observation was undertaken at the proposed development site at Blakesley Hall. The proposed building would lie to the rear of the 16th century house in an area of a possible medieval moated settlement. No medieval features or finds were recorded. Five sherds of unstratified 15th-16th pottery were recovered. A large number of features of post medieval date were recorded including former extensions to the hall, the remains of former greenhouses, outbuildings and yard surfaces, as well as field drains and boundary ditches.
