Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundations for the construction of an extension and its associated drainage, at the site of a church which contained architectural features dating from the Norman period onwards. A rubble layer which may have represented the remains of a former churchyard boundary wall was recorded, and a shallow gully-like feature was observed. Human bone fragments and three sherds of 12th century pottery were recovered. [AIP] |
