The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Early activity in the vicinity of the site was indicated by the presence of Roman road surfaces and a river crossing. It was thought that the course of the Roman road ran on a north to south course adjacent to the site. The earliest cartographic evidence indicated that in 1741-45, the site was developed and comprised several buildings with a yard and gardens. These were located at the juncture of two roads and directly north of a river crossing. Remains of national importance were not anticipated. [Au(abr)]
