Abstract: |
An archaeological investigation comprised the monitoring of eleven test trenches. Each trench contained various mixtures of re-deposited material and rubble from the previous service station on the site. Trenches 7 and 10 contained the remains of 19th century cellar walls constructed of red brick and a sandy grey mortar. The internal walls of the cellars showed several layers of paint, indicating internal cellar usage. [Au(abr)] |
