Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken at Northbrook College, Union Place as a result of a request for planning application to demolish some of the buildings on the site and erect new ones with associated car parking and landscaping works. Due to problems with detected buried cables not all the planned trenches were excavated. However, there was evidence of prehistoric activity: a flint scraper was recovered from the overburden overlaying the 'natural' Brickearth, and a square pit/post hole containing a flint core and two pieces of fire-cracked flint was encountered. The foundation for a post-medieval wall was also observed. After recording the trenches were backfilled. [Au(adp)] |
