Abstract: |
Observation over topsoil stripping and foundation trench excavation did not produce evidence for archaeological activity on the site apart from a single struck flint. It was not possible to determine whether archaeological deposits were present at depth or if palaeoenvironmental deposits existed. However, as the site encompassed part of the dry land river bank as well as the alluvium, the total absence of archaeological deposits in the areas observed suggested that they were unlikely to be present at depth on this site.
