Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out. Fifty-three sites were identified by the HER and other sources, including the Roman fort of Segedunum, the associated civilian vicus and various associated find spots, a medieval or post-medieval hall, Carville hall and a well preserved post-medieval and early modern remains of the internationally famous Wallsend colliery. The site visit identified no areas of archaeological interest. [Au(adp)] |
