Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief during the latter stages of a resurfacing programme at the Market Cross revealed an homogenous layer containing building and resurfacing debris, animal bone and pottery of probable 18th-century date or later. A cobbled surface dutting up to the kerb stones of the Market Cross was also recorded: this was believed to be a modern feature. [Au(abr)] |
