Abstract: |
<summary>Trial-holes were excavated on and close to the presumed findspot of a (metal-detected) blade fragment of a bronze spearhead. The trial-hole on the presumed findspot demonstrated 30cm of ploughsoil overlying 30+cm of peat (not bottomed). The other trial-hole, dug 15m to the north of the "findspot", revealed 30cm of ploughsoil truncating flinty/loamy buried soil, 12cm thick, over clayey/chalky natural. The buried soil contained a burnt flint and an animal tooth; burnt flint was also found on the surface in the vicinity of the trial-holes. {italon}Sec(abr/adp)(15){italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} MNL454 |
