Abstract: |
The assessment was undertaken on the site of proposed commercial and residential development. The site appeared to have been occupied continuously from the Norman period. There was the potential for both medieval and particularly prehistoric remains. Additionally, there was evidence of Roman activity close to the site. If archaeological remains were present, they had a good chance of being previously undisturbed. No significant archaeological investigations had been previously undertaken on the site. [Au] |
