Abstract:
A archaeological assessment was undertaken on an area of proposed mineral extraction. The work comprised establishing the position of an observed cropmark, examining the potential for geophysical survey and to locate spoil removed from the crop mark area and to recover any artifacts. The results revealed a deposits possibly representing the basal remnant of a ditch, which may correspond to the cropmark The soil heaps were found to represent original site overburden and no artifacts were recovered. A watching brief is recommended on further groundworks.[Au(abr)]
