Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during excavation and disturbance along the banks of a watercourse, as part of the Lower Colne Improvement Scheme. A series of prehistoric features had been recorded to the east of the site. During the watching brief, no archaeological features or artefacts were observed. It was noted that it had not been possible to satisfactorily inspect numerous areas, due to lack of access or to health and safety considerations; this could have resulted in archaeological features remaining unobserved.
