Abstract: |
The application site was within a known area of archaeological significance, and the assessment identified 47 sites immediately adjacent to the application area. There was a clear probability that remains of Saxon, medieval and post-medieval date would be present. Cellaring had occurred and was thought to have truncated much of the archaeology, however any that had survived would have been of regional significance and as a result appropriate mitigation would be required.
