Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during a series of investigations to identify the cause of subsidence in an area of the graveyard north of the chapel. The below ground features responsible for the subsidence were identified. These were the collapsed wall of a barrel vault and an area of unstable fill which was possibly filling a collapsed vault. Further brick built features were identified as as grave features. Also present was a foundation possibly for a foundation wall. These were all dated to the post-medieval period. No deposits of medieval date were identified. [Au(adp)] |
