Abstract: |
Four evaluation trenches were excavated. Medieval features were present within all four trenches, indicating that archaeological remains of this period were likely to have existed across the entire development site. Features identified included several areas where the sand had become reddened (including a possible kiln/oven with associated flue), pits, post holes, a large ditch and two possible buildings. The date of these features fitted well with the resettlement of this area and continued perhaps less intensively into the 15th century. [Au(abr)] |
