Abstract: |
The salvage recording identified areas of medieval and post-medieval settlement activity. The discoveries enabled a new hypothesis regarding the development of the historic town plan to be formulated, specifucally that Brick Kiln Lane was a late medieval or early post-medieval insertion into the town. The project also provided one of the first opportunities to briefly record 19th century vernacular housing in one of the smaller towns of the county. [Au] |
