Abstract: |
The assessment identified one possible archaeological feature. This took the form of a faint, undated cropmark, possibly formed by an enclosure ditch. The area around the proposed development also contained a variety of medieval and later archaeological features, recorded in the local Sites and Monuments Record. These included a former medieval moated site immediately to the west of the development area at Mercote Hall, and a still extant, but disused post-medieval mill to the north. However, no evidence was identified in the course of the assessment that features associated within this recorded archaeology extended into the development area. [Au(abr)] |
