Abstract: |
Archaeological observations at the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Long Compton, revealed fragments of carved stonework, including part of a 12th-century window and other stone dating from the 12th to 15th centuries, used in the blocking of a former doorway into the tower. During the excavation of a new foul sewer extending north of the churchyard 52 fragments of 12th to 13th century pottery were recovered, along with later finds. [Au] |
