Abstract: |
Although the site lay within the known extent of a prehistoric field system, no archaeological features were observed during the monitoring. A ploughsoil horizon was recorded was recorded below the present earthen farmyard, and a small assemblage of burnt flint and worked flint was recovered, although the heavily abraded nature of the material indicated that it was more likely to have been imported via cultivation rather than representing in situ archaeological remains.
