Abstract:
An evaluation trench was excavated in advance of the construction of a new road and warehouses. Though the surrounding area had revealed archaeological remains, no archaeological features or finds were recorded. Natural floodplain deposits were encountered throughout the trial trench and the areas identified as being of particular interest (namely peat deposits identified in previous geotechnical test pits) were not present in this part of the site.
