Abstract: |
Archaeological observations were undertaken during topsoil stripping on a site which lay in close proximity to the Car Dyke, one of only two artificial canals or drains in Lincolnshire generally accepted as being of Roman construction (the other being the Fosse Dyke to the west of Lincoln). Notwithstanding the potential of the site the results from the watching brief proved to be largely negative with no evidence of any archaeological features predating the 20th century. [Au(adp)] |
