Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed no evidence for human activity that pre-dated the construction of the school in 1889. The line of a natural stream shown on 19th century maps was found. The school was a fairly well preserved example of a late-19th century municipal infant school. However, the building survey was restricted to three rooms and an annexe that were affected by the development. Two of the rooms were extensions built in the 1980s. [Au] |
