Abstract: |
An archaeological investigation was carried out during the conversion of the church to a food and drink facility. The earliest recorded structures were the standing walls and column bases. Several truncated medieval burials were recorded as much of the interiors of the church had been truncated by the construction of a series of substantial brick walls and foundation pads. Brick burial vaults had been constructed in almost all areas of the church in the 19th century. In addition, the investigations produced several thousand fragments of disarticulated human bone.
