Abstract: |
Twenty-three evaluation trenches were excavated within an area of known earthworks belonging to the deserted medieval village of Canons Ashby in advance of the renewal of an existing water main. The precise alignment of the existing pipe was identified but no significant archaeological deposits in the road verge were affected by the work. Earthworks in the road verge to the south of Canons Ashby House were surveyed as part of the same evaluation scheme. [Au(adp)] |
