Abstract: |
Following a review of existing Sites and Monuments data held by Dorset County Council, an archaeological watching brief was carried out during pipelaying works for the new 250mm distribution water main between Wizard Bridge and the reservoir in Honeycombe Wood. The monitoring of topsoil stripping and trenching revealed a single subsoil feature considered to be modern in origin. Several stray finds including a prehistoric flake, miscellaneous iron objects, and medieval pottery fragments were recovered from the stripped surfaces. [Au] |
