Abstract: |
Four trenches were excavated, revealing a single feature dating to the Iron Age, but a number of late 19th and early 20th century date. The woodland area appeared to have been largely undisturbed since the early 20th century, but in the carparks, the natural chalk surface had been truncated in large areas resulting in the truncation of any archaeological features present. Narrow strips of the original land surface may, however, have survived undisturbed beneath the banks in the southern carpark. [Au(adp)] |
